Rhode Island Beaches - Oceanfront Beach Resorts
People visit the beaches in Rhode Island all year round but most people visit during spring and the summertime for spring break, romantic weekend getaways, holidays, family vacations, business, extended stays, short breaks from work and other reasons. Many people choose a beach in Rhode Island for the perfect wedding or honeymoon destination.
Rhode Island beaches are located on the Block Island Sound, Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island sound, inland ponds and rivers. Cities and towns with ocean beaches are (west to east): Westerly, Charlestown, South Kingstown, Narragansett, Block Island, North Kingstown, Warwick, Barrington, Warren, Bristol, Jamestown, Newport, Middlestown, Portsmouth, Tiverton and Little Compton. However, since you can drive the entire state in less than 1 hour, you are not far from a beach anywhere in the state. You can find cottages for rent, beach vacation rentals, oceanfront resorts, villas, inns, suites, apartments, vacation studios and other accommodations.
The surf on the Rhode Island coast range from gentle waves to heavy surf depending on the location. You can ride the waves surfing, Go boogie boarding. There's a surf for every surfer from beginner to advance. Some beaches have lifeguards on duty, others do not.

Rhode Island seaside resorts and communities include Newport and Bristol. Other communities located on offshore islands include: Tiverton, Portsmouth, Little Compton and Middletown. Narragansett is located on the Southern coast of Rhode Island. Pawtucket, East Providence, Barrington Warren and located north of Bristol.
